You may be an experienced Travel Consultant, or you may be looking for your first job. There are many jobs available from Trainee positions to experienced Travel Consultants. If you are looking to progress in the Travel industry, qualifications to consider are:

ABTAC (the Travel Agents Certificate) covers the knowledge that a leisure travel agency sales consultant should have, normally within one year of starting work. It is also available at an advanced level which covers the knowledge required by a consultant with about 2+ years experience.
ABTOC (the Tour Operators Certificate) is achieved by written examination and is available at two levels, Primary & Advanced.
The Travel Training Programme is a scheme for young people, which provides an excellent way to start a career in travel and leads to an NVQ/SVQ (National/Scottish Vocational Qualification) level 2 & 3 in Travel Ser

Additionally, you can register on these Job Boards for vacancy alerts and job news sent to you via email. You simply specify your requirements for the type of job (eg. Sales Careers), and you are then alerted immediately a vacancy that may be of interest is lodged on the Job Board.

If you obtain vacancies that match more closely your skills, then you can be more confident in getting the job. This will come across in the interview and will hopefully be a major influence in you securing a job.
